House & Garden Nutrients is a respected name in the plant nutrition industry, known for premium-grade formulas and a loyal customer base. They needed a website that could match the quality of their products and make it easier for growers to access guidance, locate retailers, and explore their lineup.
As a freelance designer and developer, I led the complete redesign—updating the interface, expanding functionality, and rebuilding key tools like the Nutrient Calculator to deliver a smoother, more impactful experience for both new and returning customers.
The Challenge
The client needed to modernize their WordPress website while:
- Keeping their existing CMS and content structure intact
- Improving mobile usability and design consistency
- Expanding product information and resources
- Rebuilding the Nutrient Calculator for better performance and accuracy
- Adding tools like a retail locator and downloadable feeding charts
The biggest challenge was updating all of this while ensuring existing customer tools remained accurate and user-friendly.
