Nonprofit Website Design Brief

The Ama Foundation supports homeless and at-risk children in Nepal through a loving, long-term home called Ama Ghar. Their mission is powerful—but their website was failing to tell the story. After sitting unfinished for nearly a year, their digital presence lacked the warmth, functionality, and clarity needed to connect with global supporters.

As a freelance digital partner, I was brought in to revive the stalled website redesign and deliver a platform that would become the heart of their fundraising and outreach.

The Challenge

The Foundation’s site had been left in limbo—partially built, poorly structured, and ineffective for driving donations or engagement. They faced:

  • An outdated design that failed to reflect the heart of the mission
  • A disorganized content layout with few live pages
  • A poor donation experience that created friction
  • Missed opportunities for storytelling, updates, and donor connection
  • A pressing need to reignite digital momentum and regain credibility

With fundraising relying heavily on online engagement, a functioning and inspiring website was critical.

My Solution

To bring the project back to life, I rebuilt the site on a custom WordPress theme—designed to highlight the foundation’s story and simplify the donor journey.

Key improvements included:

  • A refreshed, emotionally resonant design that reflects the warmth of Ama Ghar
  • Reorganized content and storytelling structure to guide visitors
  • A user-friendly donation system integrated with their existing platform
  • SEO improvements to increase visibility and reach new supporters
  • Mobile responsiveness and accessibility upgrades across the site

The site now works as a reliable digital base for outreach, education, and fundraising.

The Outcome

With the new website in place, the Ama Foundation saw:

  • Increased donations through a simplified giving experience
  • Stronger engagement from new and returning supporters
  • More effective storytelling through a modern visual and content structure
  • A renewed sense of digital credibility and professionalism

The relaunch has helped amplify the foundation’s impact—one supporter at a time.
